Purple Patch magazine was founded by Geoff Stevens and Olive Hyett in 1976 and is still very much alive in 2006, having published its 115th. issue. It is open to submissions of poetry (with SAE for reply) at any time on any subject, and from all writers, whether they subscribe or not, but needs your support to survive!
The magazine usually considers all subjects, but there have been themed issues. They have included a dialect issue, a surreal issue, a cassette tape issue, two Dylan Thomas issues, a 50/60's Angry Young Man issue, A Max Noiprox Memorial Issue, and a poet's first draft issue.
Purple Patch 115 is currently available from:-
25 Griffiths Road, West Bromwich B71 2EH, England.
It costs £5 for 3 issues in the U.K. (cheques made out to “Purple Patch”, please). European subscriptions cost £7 for 3 issues, and single copies can be sent to the USA on receipt of a $5 note (i.e. cash - no checks, due to high UK bank conversion charges!).
Various back issues are also available - please enquire.
Submissions of poetry should be accompanied by a SAE, SASE (with British postage stamps affixed), or a £1 dollar bill, or sufficient International Reply Coupons for return of manuscripts or a reply only
